MedicAir Pro Air Purifier in the UAE

The mid unit of the MedicAir range and the one that fits the rooms most buildings actually have: living and majlis spaces, meeting rooms, treatment rooms, classrooms and larger waiting areas. Up to 605 m³/h across four fan speeds, with H13 HEPA, activated carbon and a 24 W UV-C chamber.
PRO TECHnology is the exclusive MedicAir distributor for the GCC, including the United Arab Emirates, and supplies, installs and services the Pro, with replacement cartridges held locally. This is also the model with the best independent evidence behind it: in testing by Dr Iyad Al-Attar in Kuwait in September 2025 it removed 98 to 100% of particles above one micron and reduced VOC concentrations above 8,000 ppm to zero in under 30 seconds. Those results are set out, with their caveats, further down this page.

Who the Pro is for
The Pro exists for rooms that are too big for a Pro Mini and do not justify the size, weight and cost of a Pro Max. In most buildings that is the majority of rooms.
Living and majlis spaces
The connected living, dining and majlis volume in an apartment or villa is typically 150 to 250 m³, which is Pro territory at three air changes an hour.
Meeting rooms
High occupancy, closed door, moderate volume. The Pro can hold a 12-person meeting room at five air changes an hour without running at maximum.
Treatment and consultation rooms
Larger clinical rooms, dental surgeries and physiotherapy rooms where a Pro Mini is short of capacity. Position it to draw air away from the breathing zone.
Classrooms and studios
A standard classroom of around 180 m³ is inside the Pro's range at three air changes an hour, with headroom to run below maximum so it does not interfere with teaching.
Where it is not the right machine: a bedroom or hotel guest room, where an 880 mm tower running at 28 dB minimum is more machine than the room needs and the Pro Mini is quieter; and an open-plan floor, lobby or function space, where the volume calls for the Pro Max or several distributed units.
Airflow and noise at each fan speed
Most manufacturers publish one airflow figure and one noise figure and leave you to guess what happens in between. MedicAir's brochure for this unit publishes both at every speed, which makes it possible to size honestly against the setting a room will actually be run at.

The brochure's body text describes the operating band as 30 to 60 dB while its own table starts at 35 dB, and the manufacturer's website quotes 28 to 60 dB. We publish the table, because it is the only source that ties a sound figure to a specific airflow, and we have asked for the lower bound to be confirmed. The brochure also prints a power consumption column, but its first three figures duplicate the decibel column, so we treat that column as unconfirmed and do not publish wattage for this model.
What size room does a MedicAir Pro cover?
Room volume, not floor area. Length x width x ceiling height, multiplied by your target air changes per hour, gives the clean air the room needs in m³/h.

At the Medium setting, 360 m³/h, the same three targets give about 120, 72 and 36 m³. Sizing against Medium rather than Max is the difference between a machine people leave on and a machine they turn down.
A twelve-person meeting room, 7 m x 5 m with a 3 m ceiling, holds 105 m³.
At five air changes an hour it needs 525 m³/h. One Pro covers that at its High setting, 500 m³/h, or just above it at Max.
That is technically a pass and practically a warning: the room would be running at 57 to 60 dB through every meeting.
Two Pros at the Medium setting deliver 720 m³/h between them at 45 dB each, which is quieter, better distributed and comfortably ahead of the target. This is the argument for sizing generously rather than minimally.

A note on the brochure and the model name
The brochure supplied with this unit is titled *MedicAir 2.0 Air Purifier*, dated January 2022, with the unit reference FZHCE05-MWEM. Every figure in it, 605 m³/h, H13, the 24 W UV-C bulb, the four-speed table, matches what the manufacturer now lists as MedicAir Pro. We have not been given a document that says in terms that the two names describe the same unit, so we have asked for that confirmation rather than assuming it. If you are writing a tender, ask us for the model reference of the exact unit we are quoting.
The display and ReAKT
The 8 inch LCD on the top of the unit reads out air quality, relative humidity, room temperature, fan speed and remaining filter life, and the number flashes when a filter change is due. Around it, a light band on the air outlet gives the room an answer without anyone having to read a screen: white above 20 µg/m³, amber above 50 and red above 75.
In ReAKT mode the on-board laser sensors detect a rise in airborne contamination and raise the fan speed across four settings, then bring it back down. That is not only a convenience. Running at the speed the room needs rather than a fixed high setting is what makes a 5,000 hour filter life realistic.
What independent testing found
The MedicAir Pro has the most detailed independent evidence of the three models, and it was produced in a Gulf environment rather than a European one, which makes it unusually relevant here.

- Why Kuwait
- Selected for elevated outdoor particulate, high VOC concentrations and high thermal load, so the unit was assessed under conditions closer to this region than to a European laboratory.

- 98 to 100% removal of particles above 1 micron and 99% below 1 micron, measured at 0.3, 0.5, 1.0, 3.0, 5.0 and 10.0 microns, across all four fan speeds.
- VOC result
- VOC concentrations raised above 8,000 ppm were reduced to zero in under 30 seconds with the UV element off, and to 0.47 to 0.51 ppm with it on.
- What the report also recommends
- Longitudinal testing over several weeks to confirm the result holds as the filter loads, and an investigation into whether the unit itself generates chemical by-products. Both are sensible open questions rather than findings against the machine.

- What we cannot confirm
- The brochure names both laboratories but does not say which produced the chart, and we have not seen either underlying report. Treat this as a manufacturer-published chamber result rather than a verified figure, and note that it does not transfer to the other two models.

Buying and owning a MedicAir Pro in the UAE
- Filters. One combined cartridge, reference PAFCTEM2, published at 5,000 hours, with MedicAir recommending replacement at least every twelve months regardless. The unit signals when it is due. Cartridges are stocked locally by PRO TECHnology.
- Dust. A Pro in a Dubai reception area or a villa majlis loads faster than the published interval assumes, because the door opens onto outdoor dust. Keep the intake band clear and clean it regularly.
- Placement. More than 20 cm of clearance around the intake. A 360 degree intake pushed into a corner is a 180 degree intake.
- Noise. Size against the Medium or High setting rather than Max if the room is occupied while the unit runs. The speed table above makes that easy to do properly.
- Accessories. The brochure lists a wheel base and a wall mount. Ask us whether either is available for the revision we are quoting.
- Seeing one first. MedicAir units are on display at our Business Bay showroom, which is the only reliable way to judge the difference between 45 dB and 60 dB in a real room.

MedicAir Pro: frequently asked questions
What size room does the MedicAir Pro cover?
At its maximum 605 m3/h it corresponds to about 200 m3 of room volume at three air changes an hour, about 121 m3 at five and about 60 m3 at ten. At the Medium setting of 360 m3/h those figures fall to about 120, 72 and 36 m3. Work from volume, not floor area, and size against the speed the room will actually be run at rather than the maximum.
Why is the MedicAir Pro H13 when the smaller Pro Mini is H14?
H13 and H14 are both HEPA grades under EN 1822: H13 captures at least 99.95% and H14 at least 99.995% of particles at the most penetrating particle size. A coarser medium at higher airflow is a legitimate engineering choice, because a denser medium resists airflow more. H13 is also the grade most outpatient ventilation design is built around. It is worth knowing only if a specification you are answering names H14 explicitly.
How loud is the MedicAir Pro?
The brochure's own speed table gives 35 dB at Low, 45 dB at Medium, 57 dB at High and 60 dB at Max. The manufacturer's website quotes a 28 to 60 dB range. The useful point is that the quiet figure and the 605 m3/h figure describe different settings and never happen at once, so a room sized against maximum airflow is a room that has to tolerate 60 dB.
Has the MedicAir Pro been independently tested?
Yes, and it has the best evidence of the three models. Dr Iyad Al-Attar examined it in Kuwait in September 2025 and measured 98 to 100% removal of particles above one micron, 99% below one micron, and VOC concentrations above 8,000 ppm reduced to zero in under 30 seconds. MedicAir's brochure also names Airmid Healthgroup in Ireland and CremCo in Canada as independent laboratories that tested the unit in a 25 cubic metre chamber.
Is the MedicAir Pro the same as MedicAir 2.0?
The brochure supplied with the unit is titled MedicAir 2.0, dated January 2022, reference FZHCE05-MWEM, and every figure in it matches what the manufacturer now lists as MedicAir Pro: 605 m3/h, H13, a 24 W UV-C bulb and the same four-speed table. We have asked the manufacturer to confirm in writing that the names describe the same unit rather than assuming it, and we will give you the exact model reference for anything we quote.
Does the MedicAir Pro come with a remote control?
Yes. It is the only model in the range supplied with one. The brochure gives a range of up to six metres. The unit is also controlled from the 8 inch touchscreen on top and from the MedicAir mobile app, with the separate MedicAir Data app logging air quality across several units and sites.
Will the MedicAir Pro remove cooking smells and VOCs?
The activated carbon layer is the stage that addresses gases, odours and volatile organic compounds, and in independent testing this model reduced very high VOC concentrations to zero within 30 seconds. Carbon works by adsorption and has a finite capacity, so a unit in a kitchen-adjacent or high-odour space needs its cartridge changed nearer the twelve-month recommendation than the 5,000-hour ceiling. Performance also varies by compound.
How often does the MedicAir Pro filter need changing?
MedicAir publishes 5,000 hours for the PAFCTEM2 cartridge and recommends replacement at least once every twelve months even if the unit has not signalled a change. The display tracks remaining filter life and flashes when it is low. Expect the shorter end in a dusty or heavily occupied space. Cartridges are supplied locally in the UAE by PRO TECHnology.
Can a MedicAir Pro replace ventilation in a meeting room?
No. It filters and recirculates air that is already in the room. It introduces no outdoor air and removes no carbon dioxide, so if CO2 climbs through a long meeting the building needs ventilation and no purifier will change that. Purification and ventilation are complementary, and a supplier who tells you otherwise is overselling.
