Direct to Bottle Printing for Beverage Manufacturers: an R&D and Procurement Guide
Labels and shrink sleeves lock a bottling line into minimum order quantities, label inventory and changeover time. LSINC Peri series printers put the artwork straight onto the container, 360 degrees around PET, glass or aluminium, cured instantly with UV ink. PRO TECHnology is LSINC's Middle East partner, with regional support in Saudi Arabia through PRONEXT.

What R&D should test before specifying a printer
The questions that decide a beverage print project are adhesion, curing and how the decoration behaves through filling, pasteurisation, condensation and handling. Run those tests on your own container and your own artwork, not on a sample bottle.

Substrate and adhesion
PET, glass and aluminium each behave differently. Test adhesion on the exact resin, coating and surface finish you actually run.

360 degree coverage
The Peri platform rotates the container and prints all the way around in one automated pass, so there is no seam and no label edge to lift.

Instant UV curing
Ink cures on contact, so a printed container can move straight to the next station without a drying stage.

Condensation and handling
Chilled bottles sweat and get handled wet. Direct print has no paper or film layer to wrinkle, bubble or peel.
What procurement should put in the business case
The saving is rarely the ink. It is the label line item, the minimum order quantity, the warehouse space and the write-off when artwork changes. Direct printing turns a stocked consumable into an on-demand process.

No label inventory
Label and sleeve stock disappears from the balance sheet, along with the minimum order quantities that force over-ordering.

No artwork obsolescence
A design change is a file change. There is no pallet of superseded labels to write off.

Throughput you can model
Rated output runs from 174 to 1,146 pieces per hour depending on model, artwork and container, so a line rate can be modelled before purchase.

One piece minimum
No plates, screens or cylinders means a run of one costs the same per unit to set up as a run of ten thousand.
Co-branding, limited editions and personalisation
Once decoration is a file rather than a stocked label, the commercial team can sell things the line previously could not produce. This is where direct printing pays for itself twice.

Co-branded runs
Print a partner brand, retailer or sponsor onto the same bottle you already produce, without a separate label SKU.

Events and sponsorships
Match-day, conference and hospitality runs become a scheduling decision rather than a procurement lead time.

Regional and seasonal artwork
Ramadan, National Day and market-specific designs can run in the quantities each market actually needs.

Premium and gifting tiers
Frosted, metallic and photographic finishes support a premium tier that a paper label cannot carry.
Proven on a Gulf bottling line
Pure Beverages Industry Company (PBIC), the Saudi producer behind Ival bottled water, deployed LSINC PeriOne and PeriQ360 printers with regional support from PRO TECHnology. Capacity rose, personalisation became a standard offering and unit decoration cost fell.

PBIC and Ival water
A Saudi bottled water producer running direct to object printing at production scale rather than as a pilot.

PeriOne and PeriQ360 together
PeriOne handles high mix and short runs while PeriQ360 carries production throughput at the same print quality.

Supported inside the Kingdom
Installation, training, inks and service are handled regionally through PRONEXT, our Saudi arm.

Frequently asked questions
What printer prints directly onto water bottles?
The LSINC Peri series prints 360 degrees around PET, glass and aluminium containers using UV cured ink. PeriOne suits high mix and short runs, while PeriQ360 scales the same print quality to production throughput. PRO TECHnology supplies and supports both across the Middle East.
Is direct to bottle printing cheaper than labels for a beverage manufacturer?
It removes the label line item, the minimum order quantity, the warehouse space labels occupy and the write-off when artwork changes. Pure Beverages Industry Company in Saudi Arabia reported higher production capability alongside a lower unit decoration cost after moving to LSINC Peri printers.
Can we print limited editions and co-branded bottles without new labels?
Yes. Because the decoration is a print file rather than a stocked label, co-branded runs, event bottles, sponsorships and personalised editions can be produced without creating a separate label SKU or waiting on a label lead time.
Which containers can be printed, and can we test our own?
PET, glass and aluminium containers can all be printed 360 degrees in a single automated pass. PRO TECHnology runs print trials on your own containers and your own artwork at the Dubai showroom, which is the recommended first step before specifying a system.
What throughput can a beverage line expect?
Rated output runs from 174 to 1,146 pieces per hour depending on the model, the artwork and the container, so a realistic line rate can be modelled during procurement rather than estimated after installation.
Who installs and services LSINC printers in Saudi Arabia?
PRO TECHnology supports LSINC systems across the Middle East, and its Saudi arm PRONEXT provides demonstrations, installation, operator training, inks and service inside the Kingdom.
Does the print survive chilling, condensation and handling?
Direct printing puts UV cured ink onto the container itself, so there is no paper or film layer that can wrinkle, bubble or peel when a bottle is chilled, sweats or is handled wet. Adhesion should still be validated on your exact substrate before production.

Print your own bottle before you specify a line
Send us your container and artwork. We will run it on an LSINC Peri system at the Dubai showroom, then work through throughput, ink cost and the numbers for your own production.
