The wallPen prints on almost anything.
If necessary, the printing substrate must be pre-treated. Each material should be tested before printing. We guide and supply the correct pre-treatment when it is needed.

Print speed runs from 2 to 16 square metres per hour depending on the surface, the number of passes and the resolution. Set a realistic speed for the work you do, add your setup time, and enter your own selling price per square metre.
Each setup is counted as 30 minutes taken out of the working day. Gross margin only. Labour, transport to site, surface preparation, maintenance, rent and finance cost are not included. Replace the default price and ink cost with your own figures.

What is the time needed to set up the wallPen?
Setup can take 30 minutes if done alone.
What is the print speed?
Printing speed ranges from 2 to 16 square metres per hour, depending on the wall surface complexity such as flat or curved, the number of passes, the resolution in DPI, and the artwork size.
Can I remove the wall print?
- On glass with a ceramic hob scraper or razor blade. Otherwise, a print can always be painted over in two or three layers.
- Wood must be sanded. Metal or concrete needs sandblasting or glass bead blasting.
What is the ink quality?
- The UV inks are produced in Europe, are ISO 9001-2015 certified, vegan, and contain no solvents or thinners.
- The inks are ideal for wall printing because they cure within milliseconds and are instantly scratch and abrasion resistant.
- Because the print is sterile and abrasion resistant, walls in children's rooms, doctors' surgeries and historic preservation areas can also be printed without any worries.
- The ink dries within milliseconds and is abrasion resistant, waterproof and solvent resistant.
Does the wall need to be perfectly smooth?
No. wallPen can print on smooth and textured walls.
Can you print on textured or uneven walls?
Yes. The printhead has a laser system that automatically adjusts the distance from the wall.
Is surface preparation required before printing?
Yes. Surface preparation depends on the material. We guide and supply the correct pre-treatment when needed.
How long does the print last indoors versus outdoors?
Indoors, prints can last 12 years or more when proper surface preparation is followed. For outdoor applications, UV resistance is typically around 2 years depending on the material. That lifespan can be significantly extended, often to over 5 years, by applying a transparent UV protective coating.
Is it safe, non toxic and odourless?
Yes. The prints are odourless, abrasion resistant, and safe for homes, children's rooms, hospitals and public spaces.
What are the power requirements on site?
A normal power plug. A standard single phase socket is required and the machine comes with a 12 metre cable.
What file formats do you accept?
The wallPen supports a wide range of file formats including TIFF, JPEG, PDF, AI and PSD. File preparation is straightforward and user friendly, requiring only minimal design experience, and we provide a clear step by step guide to ensure a smooth process.
How much space is required between the wall and the print?
The printer requires 6 cm of space on the left, 10 cm on the right, and 25 cm clearance at both the ceiling and the floor. On open walls there are virtually no size limitations. If there are adjacent walls or obstructions on the sides, top or bottom, this minimum clearance is needed to ensure proper operation.
