Gold iPhones in Dubai: A Buyer’s Guide to GoldPrivé’s 24K, Solid Gold and iPhone Duo Editions

A 24K gold iPhone from GoldPrivé is a genuine Apple iPhone finished in real gold. On most editions that means 999.9 fine gold, electroplated 5 to 7 microns thick over Apple’s own phone; on the 18K Solid Gold line, a back plate made of solid 18K gold. GoldPrivé finishes every piece to order in Dubai, and its iPhone 18 Pro editions, Gold iPhone Duo and engraved executive gifts can be seen at Showroom 3 in the Aswar Building, Business Bay, where PRO TECHnology, its partner since the Emirates Towers days, displays and sells them.

Key takeaways

  • “24K” describes the gold, not the phone. Most GoldPrivé editions are a genuine Apple iPhone with a 24K gold-plated exterior; only the 18K Solid Gold line has a part made of solid gold, its back plate.
  • GoldPrivé plates in 999.9 fine gold, 5 to 7 microns thick: at least twice the 2.5 microns that US trade rules require before a finish may be called heavy gold electroplate.
  • Cameras, Face ID or Touch ID, 5G and Apple Pay keep working. Treat a customised phone as not water-resistant, and check whether your edition keeps wireless charging, because a metal back usually blocks it.
  • Apple’s warranty excludes phones modified without Apple’s written permission. GoldPrivé gives its own warranty: two years on the customisation and one year on the device.
  • Listed on 13 October 2026: iPhone 18 Pro editions from US$2,990 (AED 11,063), 18K Solid Gold from US$16,220, a phone you already own from US$1,190, engraved executive gifts from US$265.
  • Apple’s iPhone Duo goes on sale in the UAE on 23 October 2026. GoldPrivé is already taking Gold iPhone Duo pre-orders against a 50% deposit.
  • See the pieces at Showroom 3, Aswar Building, Business Bay, near Business Bay Metro Station. GoldPrivé is open every day from 10am to 10pm.

GoldPrivé and PRO TECHnology: partners since the Emirates Towers showroom

GoldPrivé is a Dubai house that finishes genuine Apple and Samsung devices in 24K gold, rose gold and platinum, makes bespoke one-off phones and supplies engraved executive gifts. Every piece is made to order in its Dubai atelier and delivered worldwide.

The partnership goes back to the years when PRO TECHnology ran a second showroom at Jumeirah Emirates Towers Boulevard, opened in 2011 to show accessories and luxury electronics, as our company history records. GoldPrivé has worked with us since those Emirates Towers days. Today it has its own stand in the PRO TECHnology showroom, Showroom 3 in the Aswar Building, Business Bay, where its pieces are displayed and sold, and it is one of the brands of our Distribution & Retail division, alongside Stadler Form, DICOTA, Aeris, Sonic Chair, LaCie and Bellaria.

Why does a technology distributor carry a luxury brand? Because the buyers overlap. The executives, assistants and procurement teams who come to us for Apple devices, secure storage and office equipment are often the same people who commission a gold iPhone for a milestone or an important client. They ask the questions we answer about any device: is it genuine, what does the warranty cover, will it work with the rest of my set-up. This guide answers them for gold iPhones, using GoldPrivé’s own published figures, dated and linked.

A note on names: iPhone, iPhone Duo and Apple Pay are Apple trademarks. GoldPrivé states that it is not connected with Apple Inc., and Apple does not make or endorse gold editions of its phones.

What “24K gold iPhone” means: plated, solid gold or just a colour

Karat measures the purity of gold: 24K is 99.9% gold and 18K is 75%, as Gulf News sets out for UAE shoppers. On a phone, the karat describes the metal used for the finish. It does not mean the phone is made of gold: what is inside, and most of what is outside, remains Apple’s.

Four different things can be offered under the words “gold iPhone”. Tell them apart before any price is discussed:

Prices are GoldPrivé’s listed figures in US dollars for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max on 13 October 2026. Storage, stones and engraving change the final price.

The difference matters for more than the price. In the United States, the Federal Trade Commission’s guides for the jewellery industry treat calling a surface-plated item “gold” without qualification as potentially misleading, and set minimums: “gold electroplate” needs at least 0.175 microns of fine gold, “heavy gold electroplate” at least 2.5 microns. GoldPrivé publishes 5 to 7 microns of 999.9 fine gold, two to almost three times the heavy-plate minimum. These are US rules, not UAE ones, but they make a useful yardstick when you compare quotations from different sellers.

Three GoldPrivé iPhone backs fanned out on a light grey background: one plated in platinum with a black carbon fibre panel, one in rose gold with a brown carbon fibre panel, and one in plain polished 24K gold showing the Apple logo and a small GoldPrivé mark near the bottom.

How GoldPrivé finishes a phone, and what stays Apple’s

Every GoldPrivé phone starts as a genuine, brand-new Apple device. For iPhone Duo, GoldPrivé specifies an unlocked phone bought at retail and states that nothing is cloned, reshelled or aftermarket. The internal hardware, cameras, displays and software stay Apple’s, and iOS updates continue as normal.

What changes depends on the model. On the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, the exterior is finished in the chosen metal or, on accent editions, only the lens rings, side buttons and logo. On iPhone Duo, GoldPrivé removes only the original rear panel and fits a new metal back plate, polished and electroplated in 24K gold, rose gold or platinum at 5 to 7 microns. The frame, hinge, side buttons and both displays are not plated, opened or altered. Leather, mother of pearl, carbon fibre and stones are set into the plate before it is fitted.

Three practical consequences follow, and a good seller raises all three before you pay:

  • Water. GoldPrivé’s warranty states that a gold-plated device is not water-resistant and that liquid damage voids the warranty, even where Apple rates the original phone, as it does iPhone Duo, at IP68.
  • Wireless charging. A metal back plate blocks it on most iPhone Duo editions, which then charge by USB-C; some Pearl Edition and Exotic Skin configurations keep it. On the iPhone 18 Pro, the Timeless and Premium Anodised editions carry no metal across the back and keep MagSafe and Qi2. GoldPrivé confirms the answer for each configuration before the order.
  • Cases. GoldPrivé asks owners to use the phone in a soft cover, and warns that hard, snug-fitting cases can shorten the life of the plating.

iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: eight GoldPrivé collections and their prices

Apple put the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max on sale in the UAE on 18 September 2026. GoldPrivé lists 38 editions across both sizes in its 24K gold iPhone 18 Pro Max collection, from US$2,990, shown as AED 11,063 on its UAE pages. The collections, as listed on 13 October 2026:

Storage, metal, stones and personalisation change the final price, which GoldPrivé confirms before production.

The 18K Solid Gold iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are the only GoldPrivé iPhones with a part made of solid gold. Each back plate is produced individually, engraved with its 18K designation and supplied with a GoldPrivé certificate of authenticity; GoldPrivé states that the plate is not hallmarked. In Dubai, retail gold hallmarks are approved by Dubai Central Laboratory, so if a hallmark matters to you, raise it before ordering. Every GoldPrivé piece also carries a serial number that can be checked on its product verification page.

Gold iPhone Duo: GoldPrivé’s editions for Apple’s first foldable

Apple introduced iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, on 9 September 2026: a grade 5 titanium phone in star white or night sky, with a 7.6-inch inner display, Touch ID in the side button and an IP68 rating. In the UAE, Apple opens pre-orders on 16 October and starts sales on 23 October 2026.

GoldPrivé’s Gold iPhone Duo collection is already taking pre-orders, reserved with a 50% deposit and finished in the order received. Because a hinge works to fractions of a millimetre, GoldPrivé leaves it alone: only the back plate is replaced, so the phone folds and closes as Apple designed it. Six collections are listed: Ultimate, Éclat (diamond-set), Evil Eye (with an 18K solid gold amulet), Exotic Skin, Pearl Edition and Carbon Craft. On 13 October 2026 the collection page gave indicative starting prices of US$4,190 for Ultimate, US$4,690 for Exotic Skin, Pearl Edition and Carbon Craft, US$4,890 for Éclat and US$9,690 for Evil Eye, with diamond work and engraving quoted separately.

Since every commission starts from a phone bought at retail, Apple’s UAE dates set the pace: GoldPrivé confirms the lead time for each Duo pre-order in writing when the order is placed.

Design your own gold iPhone, or send in the one you have

For a one-off, GoldPrivé’s online configurator lets you design your own iPhone and watch the phone change on screen with each choice:

  1. Choose the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max or iPhone Duo, from 256GB to 2TB.
  2. Pick the metal: 24K gold, rose gold or platinum. On the iPhone 18 Pro it is a full metal body or an anodised colour with metal details; on iPhone Duo, a new back plate.
  3. Add a material framed in that metal: snake-textured leather in nine colours, black crocodile, carbon fibre in five colours, or white, green or brown mother of pearl.
  4. Choose an emblem, from a serpent or a tiger to lion and wolf medallions.
  5. Engrave a name or initials of up to 16 characters in one of five fonts, or a portrait.
  6. Copy the link to your design to share it. The price shown is provisional; GoldPrivé confirms it before the phone is made.

Already own the phone? You can customise an iPhone you already own: send GoldPrivé a photo of the device and the look you want, and it replies with a render of your own phone in that finish and a firm price before anything is paid. Phones start at US$1,190, the same in every metal, the work takes 7 to 14 working days, a 50% deposit starts it, and nothing is opened until you approve the render. Our Enterprise IT team’s advice before any phone leaves your hands: back it up, and if it is a company phone, tell your IT team first.

Gold iPhones and engraved gifts in a corporate gifting programme

Companies in the UAE put gold pieces at the top of a gifting programme: the chairman’s gift, a client milestone, a retirement, an award. GoldPrivé’s luxury corporate gifts range lists seven 24K gold-plated executive pieces at US$265 to US$659: two pens (one with USB storage), a lighter, a money clip, two pairs of cufflinks and a tie clip. Each is made to order and engraved, not printed, with a name, a monogram or an approved company logo. Production takes 7 to 14 working days once the engraving artwork is approved, and larger quantities are scheduled with a consultant. Phones take engraving the same way, so a leadership team can receive matching iPhones carrying the company logo.

The gift for a whole client list and the gift for the ten most important clients are different purchases. For the wider list, our sister company Sun Studio prints branded perfume, chocolate, drinkware and bags in Dubai with no minimum order, as our corporate gifting guide for National Day, Ramadan and Eid explains. For the top tier, an engraved GoldPrivé piece carries the occasion. In both cases the approval of the artwork sets the delivery date, so plan backwards from the event.

When the gold iPhone is a work phone: notes from our Enterprise IT team

A gold finish does not change what the phone is to iOS. GoldPrivé keeps Apple’s internal hardware and software, so a gold iPhone can be managed like any other iPhone. The question IT needs answered first is who owns it.

  • Company-owned. If the company buys the phone for an executive and keeps ownership, enrol it in the company’s device management with the rest of the fleet. PRO TECHnology is the Middle East distributor and partner for FileWave, which manages iPhone alongside Mac and Windows computers.
  • A gift the person keeps. If the phone is given to keep, it is a personal device. Protect company data with Apple’s User Enrollment rather than full device control, as our guide to enrolling staff-owned phones explains.
  • Before it goes for finishing. If an existing phone is being sent for customisation, back it up and, if it is managed, tell IT before it leaves the building so the device record stays accurate.

Warranty, returns and care: what to confirm before you pay

Apple’s one-year limited warranty does not apply to a product “modified to alter functionality or capability without the written permission of Apple”, and GoldPrivé tells buyers that customisation can affect the Apple warranty. GoldPrivé’s own warranty covers the customisation for two years and the device for one year from delivery, with repairs at its authorised service centre taking up to 45 days. A checklist for the conversation with any seller of gold phones:

  • Is the phone new, genuine and unlocked, and does its serial number appear on your invoice?
  • Which parts are plated and which, if any, are solid gold, in what metal and how thick? Get it in writing.
  • Does this exact edition keep wireless charging?
  • What does the warranty cover, for how long, and what voids it? GoldPrivé’s list includes liquid damage, removing the protective foil and cleaning with chemical products.
  • Is there a certificate, and a serial number you can verify?
  • What if you change your mind? GoldPrivé’s phones are made to order and are not returnable or exchangeable.
  • How is it delivered? GoldPrivé insures every shipment; inside the UAE, delivery takes 3 to 5 business days after the customisation is complete.

One GoldPrivé policy is worth knowing when you upgrade: under GoldPrivé Care, buying your next GoldPrivé device includes one free re-customisation of the old one, with fresh plating or new engraving, so it can be passed to family or resold looking new.

Beyond the iPhone: Samsung Galaxy, Apple Watch, iPad and Mac

The same metals and workshop cover other flagships, including the 24K gold Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Apple Watch Ultra 4 and Series 12, iPad, the MacBook Pro and AirPods Max 2. Watches are refinished on the case only, with the band left as it is. For a matched set, an executive’s phone, watch and laptop can be finished in one metal and engraved alike.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I buy a gold iPhone in Dubai?

GoldPrivé sells its gold iPhones at Showroom 3, Aswar Building, Business Bay, near Business Bay Metro Station, open every day from 10am to 10pm, where PRO TECHnology also displays and sells them. You can also order on goldprive.com with insured delivery; inside the UAE it arrives 3 to 5 business days after the customisation is finished.

Is a 24K gold plated iPhone real gold?

The plating is real gold: GoldPrivé uses 999.9 fine gold, 5 to 7 microns thick. The phone underneath is a genuine Apple iPhone, so the gold is a layer on the outside, not the material of the phone. Only GoldPrivé’s 18K Solid Gold editions have a part made entirely of gold, the back plate.

What is the difference between a gold iPhone and a gold-plated iPhone?

Apple’s own finishes are colours, not gold metal; the iPhone 18 Pro comes in black, silver, glacier and burgundy. A gold-plated iPhone is Apple’s phone with real gold applied to its exterior. A solid gold iPhone, in GoldPrivé’s range, has an 18K solid gold back plate on a 24K gold-plated Apple frame.

How much does a 24K gold iPhone cost in Dubai?

On 13 October 2026 GoldPrivé listed its iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max editions from US$2,990 (AED 11,063), its Ultimate collection at US$3,590 to US$4,190 and its 18K Solid Gold editions at US$16,220 to US$24,180. Customising an iPhone you already own starts at US$1,190. Storage, stones and engraving add to the price.

Can I customise my iPhone Duo?

Yes. GoldPrivé replaces only the iPhone Duo back plate with a new one in 24K gold, rose gold or platinum, leaving the frame, hinge and screens as Apple made them, and its online configurator includes iPhone Duo. Apple’s UAE sales start on 23 October 2026; GoldPrivé takes Gold iPhone Duo pre-orders against a 50% deposit.

Does gold plating void the Apple warranty?

It can. Apple’s limited warranty excludes products modified without Apple’s written permission, and GoldPrivé tells buyers that customisation can affect the Apple warranty. GoldPrivé gives its own warranty instead: two years on the customisation and one year on the device, from the date you receive it.

Is a gold-plated iPhone water-resistant?

Treat it as not water-resistant. GoldPrivé’s warranty states that the plated device is not water-resistant and that liquid damage voids the warranty, even though Apple rates the original iPhone Duo at IP68.

Does wireless charging work on a gold iPhone?

It depends on the edition. GoldPrivé’s Timeless and Premium Anodised iPhone 18 Pro editions have no metal across the back and keep MagSafe and Qi2. A metal back plate blocks wireless charging on most Gold iPhone Duo editions, which then charge by USB-C. GoldPrivé confirms the answer for your configuration before you order.

Can a gold iPhone be engraved with a company logo?

Yes. GoldPrivé engraves names, monograms, crests and approved company logos on phones and on its executive gifts. For corporate pieces, production takes 7 to 14 working days once the engraving artwork is approved, so approve the artwork early when a gift is tied to an event date.

Can company IT manage a gold iPhone given to an executive?

Yes. The gold finish leaves the phone’s internal hardware and software as Apple made them, so it can be enrolled in device management like any iPhone. If the company keeps ownership, enrol it fully; if the phone is a gift the person keeps, use Apple’s User Enrollment so IT manages work data only.
