Dubai, 2013. Stadler Form of Zug, Switzerland, has appointed PRO TECHnology as its exclusive distributor for the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. The agreement brings the Swiss-designed range, led by the Albert dehumidifier that has just won a red dot design award, to the homes that need it most: the villas and apartments along the Gulf coast where sea humidity and air conditioning meet.

PRO TECHnology, the Dubai technology company established in 1998, today becomes the exclusive distributor of Stadler Form for the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. Stadler Form AG was founded in Zug, Switzerland, in September 1998 by Martin Stadler, who could not find a humidifier that met his own standards and built one instead; the Fred humidifier that followed in 1999, designed by Matti Walker, set the pattern for everything since: appliances for the indoor climate that are engineered seriously and designed to be seen. Its company history records the milestones, including this year's three red dot design awards for the Albert dehumidifier, the Anna fan heater and the Oskar big humidifier.
Under the agreement PRO TECHnology imports, sells, supports and warrants the Stadler Form range across the five countries, from a base in Dubai. It is the start of a new line of business for the group: indoor air quality, which will later grow into a division of its own, and it begins with the product the region needs most, a dehumidifier built for humid rooms.
Why homes by the sea in Dubai needed a dehumidifier partner
Anyone who has lived on Palm Jumeirah, in Jumeirah Beach Residence, along Dubai Marina, on Bluewaters or Emaar Beachfront, in a villa in Jumeirah or Umm Suqeim, on Yas Island or Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi, or on any of the new islands and waterfront communities from Ras Al Khaimah to Fujairah knows the problem. Outdoor humidity on the Gulf coast sits between 80 and 90 percent for much of the year, sea air carries it indoors every time a door opens, and the air conditioning that keeps a room cool also chills every hard surface below the dew point. The result is condensation on windows and marble, damp patches on walls, warped doors and timber, a musty smell in wardrobes and closed rooms, and mould behind furniture. Air conditioning removes some moisture as part of cooling, but it is not designed to hold a humidity target, and in a closed villa over a humid summer it does not.

A dehumidifier is built for exactly that job. It pulls air across a cold coil, condenses the water out of it, and holds the room at a humidity you choose, typically 50 to 60 percent, day and night. That is why PRO TECHnology went looking for a partner in 2013, and why it chose a Swiss brand whose dehumidifiers were quiet enough for a bedroom and designed well enough for a living room, rather than the plant-room machines that the market offered at the time.
The years since have proved the choice. By PRO TECHnology's own records, more than 20,000 homes in the UAE have fixed a humidity problem with a Stadler Form dehumidifier since 2013. More than 1,000 of them are beachfront villas and palaces on Palm Jumeirah, JBR, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah, Yas Island, Saadiyat and the rest of the coast, where over 2,500 dehumidifiers were installed, often several to a home so that bedrooms, wardrobes, basements and gyms are each held at the right level. Albert: the hero product, then and now
Albert is the dehumidifier the partnership was built on. Launched by Stadler Form in 2012 and designed by Matti, it removes up to 20 litres of water a day from rooms up to 70 m² (175 m³), runs from 33 dB(A) at its lowest setting, the quietest start in the range, and carries a digital hygrostat, a 24-hour on and off timer, a swing mode that spreads the dry air around a large room, a night mode, a 4.6-litre tank with automatic shut-off when full, and a hose connection for continuous drainage. It won the red dot design award for product design in 2013, and years later, in July 2026, it carried the Amazon's Choice badge for dehumidifiers on Amazon.ae, which our Amazon's Choice note records.

Lukas and Lukas Pro: the same idea, with an air purifier built in
Update, September 2026. Stadler Form launched the Lukas in 2024 and the Lukas Pro in 2025. Both are supplied and supported by PRO TECHnology in the region and sold online at stadlerform.ae, alongside Albert.
The Lukas takes Albert's 20 litres a day and 70 m² rating and adds what a decade of customers asked for: control from a smartphone app over Wi-Fi, a laundry drying mode, four speed levels, a child lock, wheels, and a night mode that dims the lights and drops to the lowest level. It also takes an optional HEPA filter that turns it into a dehumidifier and air purifier in one, sold as the Lukas Smart bundle, and it comes in a Titanium grey finish as well as white. The Lukas Pro is the villa machine: up to 50 litres a day for rooms up to 175 m² (435 m³), with a HEPA air purifier built in as standard, a clean air delivery rate of up to 327 m³ per hour, an air quality indicator that shows what the sensor is reading, Wi-Fi app control, a 5.2-litre tank and a drainage hose option. It dehumidifies and purifies at the same time, or purifies alone when the humidity is already right. A 50-litre dehumidifier and a HEPA purifier in one quiet box is a combination PRO TECHnology has not seen matched by another brand in the UAE, and it is the unit that now goes into most of the large coastal villas we supply.
