## What size room does Lukas cover? 70 m², 175 m³ and your ceiling height

**Stadler Form rates Lukas for rooms up to 70 m², or 175 m³ of air, figures that match a 2.5 m ceiling (175 ÷ 70 = 2.5).** In taller rooms, multiply floor area by ceiling height and keep the result within 175 m³.

The rating applies to one room or open-plan space. The manual's minimum is a room of 4 m².

**What 20 L/day means:** up to 20 litres a day (Stadler Form's rated maximum, reached only from about 22 °C and 70% relative humidity). The exact test condition is not published, and in a cooler, air-conditioned room Lukas removes less.

## How quiet is Lukas, and can you sleep with it on?

**Lukas is rated at 38 to 52 dB(A), depending on the setting: quiet, but not inaudible.** Stadler Form states no measuring distance and publishes no separate figure for night mode; 38 dB(A) is simply the bottom of the overall range.

Night mode dims the LEDs to 30%, switches the display off and sets the fan to level 1, which can be raised with SPEED. Stadler Form says Lukas works quietly and discreetly in night mode. ## Smart features: Wi-Fi app, hygrostat, timer and child lock

**Lukas pairs with the Stadler Form app or Tuya's Smart Life app (iOS and Android), which control every function and show room humidity from anywhere.** It joins 2.4 GHz networks only, not a combined 2.4/5 GHz network or a pure 5 GHz network.

1. Make sure your router offers a separate 2.4 GHz network.
2. Install one app only: a unit cannot sit in both apps at once.
3. Switch Lukas on. On first use it is already in pairing mode; otherwise hold the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds.
4. The Wi-Fi LED flashes while pairing and stays lit once connected. One account owns the unit and can share control.

The app shows humidity, not air quality (Lukas has no particle sensor), adds a 24-hour timer and can set the child lock. Lukas does not work with Apple HomeKit, and no voice assistant is documented. ### Hygrostat, timer and child lock

The hygrostat takes a target from 30% to 80% relative humidity, or CO for continuous running; at the target, Lukas switches off and re-checks with short fan runs. A target in the commonly recommended 40 to 60% band makes conditions less favourable for damp, condensation and mould growth.

The TIMER button switches Lukas off after 1 to 9 hours (the English manual misprints this as switching on; the German manual says off). Holding TIMER for 3 seconds locks every button and shows 'CL'; hold it again to unlock. The lock clears when Lukas is unplugged.

### Automatic shut-off and power cuts

Lukas switches off when the 4.2-litre tank is full (it restarts once the emptied tank is refitted), at the target humidity and when the timer ends. After a power cut, the manual documents only a memory of the last settings, not an automatic restart.

## Laundry drying: what the LAUNDRY mode does

**LAUNDRY mode is a one-button preset for drying washing indoors: swing airflow, the highest of four levels, continuous operation and a 6-hour timer.** Only the timer can be changed, and the display shows the time left. Stadler Form says the swing spreads dry air evenly around the room, but publishes no drying time.

1. Hang clothes at least 50 cm from Lukas, where no water can drip onto it.
2. Empty the tank, or fit the hose to a lower drain, so a full tank does not stop the run.

## Drainage: the 4.2-litre tank or a continuous drain hose

**Water collects in a 4.2-litre tank with a level indicator, or drains continuously through the 100 cm hose in the box.** When the tank is full, Lukas stops, and it restarts once the tank is emptied and refitted.

The hose fits the drain valve at the back, with the tank in place. Drainage is by gravity only: the hose end must sit lower than the spout, so Lukas cannot drain up into a sink. Empty the tank before moving Lukas on its hidden castors.

## Is Lukas a 2-in-1 dehumidifier and air purifier?

**Only with the optional HEPA H11 filter, L-032, which Lukas and Lukas Titanium ship without.** It sits behind the rear air inlet grid and removes particles from the air Lukas draws in. It cannot be cleaned, should be replaced after about 12 months, and does not fit Lukas Pro.

**Limits:** Lukas has no particle sensor and no documented purify-only mode. Stadler Form lists the filter at '175 CADR' with no unit and no air-change basis, so we quote no purifier room size. ## Design: IDA Design Awards 2024 Gold for Lukas

**The Lukas design won Gold at the International Design Awards (IDA) 2024, in Home & Living / Smart Home Products.** The entry, 'Dehumidifier Lukas' by Stadler Form, credits Matti Walker, the company's long-time designer, and was shown in white. Stadler Form, the Swiss design company founded in Zug in 1998, gives 2024 as the launch year of Lukas.

## Where to put Lukas: setup and safety rules from the manual

**Stand Lukas upright on a firm, level, waterproof floor in a room of at least 4 m², more than 50 cm from walls and large objects, and at least 3 m from any bath, shower or pool.**

1. Leave it upright for 24 hours before first use, and at least 60 minutes after any move.
2. Never run it inside a closet or cover the vents; it is for indoor home use only.
3. Wipe the air inlet filter with a damp cloth, and vacuum the inlet and outlet regularly.

Lukas works best at 13 to 35 °C, with defrost for rooms down to 5 °C; the maximum is 35 °C and 90% relative humidity. It contains 60 g of R290, a flammable refrigerant.

## What Lukas is not designed for

**Lukas is a household dehumidifier for indoor rooms up to 70 m²; the manual says it is only to be used in the home.** It is not for:

- Rooms over 70 m² or 175 m³, open-plan villa living areas or majlis spaces (choose Lukas Pro).
- Bedrooms where the lowest noise matters most (choose Albert).
- Bathrooms or anywhere within 3 m of a bath, shower or pool, closets, rooms under 4 m², outdoors or rooms below 5 °C.
- Offices, hotels or other commercial spaces, and industrial, marine or water-damage drying.
- Clinical air needs: it is a household appliance, not a medical device.

**Which dehumidifier should I buy for my house?**

Choose by room size, noise and features. Lukas suits rooms or apartments up to 70 m² where you want Wi-Fi, laundry drying and a child lock; Albert covers 70 m² more quietly without them, and Lukas Pro covers 175 m² with HEPA included. Our dehumidifier chooser compares every model.

**What size room is Lukas for?**

Stadler Form rates Lukas for rooms up to 70 m², or 175 m³, which matches a 2.5 m ceiling. For taller rooms, divide 175 by the ceiling height: about 58 m² at 3 m, 50 m² at 3.5 m and 44 m² at 4 m. The manual's minimum room size is 4 m².

**How loud is Lukas, and can I sleep with it on?**

Lukas is rated at 38 to 52 dB(A): quiet, not inaudible. For sleeping, night mode dims the LEDs to 30%, turns the display off and sets the fan to level 1, which can be raised. Stadler Form publishes no night-mode noise figure. Albert starts lower, at 33 dB(A).

**Does Lukas work with 5 GHz Wi-Fi?**

No. Lukas connects only to 2.4 GHz networks, not to a combined 2.4/5 GHz network or a pure 5 GHz network, so your router needs a separate 2.4 GHz network. It pairs with the Stadler Form app or Tuya's Smart Life app, one at a time, and the app shows room humidity.

**Does Lukas have a child lock?**

Yes. With Lukas switched on, hold TIMER for 3 seconds: 'CL' shows briefly and every button locks. Hold TIMER for 3 seconds again to unlock. The app can also set the lock. It clears when Lukas is unplugged, so set it again after the unit has been disconnected.

**Does Lukas switch off automatically when the tank is full?**

Yes. When the 4.2-litre tank is full, the TANK FULL LED lights and Lukas switches off; it starts again by itself once the emptied tank is refitted. It also switches off at your target humidity, re-checking with short fan runs, and when the 1 to 9 hour timer ends.

**Does Lukas restart after a power cut?**

That is not documented. The manual describes a memory function that saves the last settings when Lukas is switched off and unplugged, but it does not say the unit switches itself back on after a power cut, and the child lock is not kept. Check the unit after an outage.

**Can Lukas dry laundry?**

**Is Lukas better than Lukas Pro or Albert?**

Lukas is the best fit for Wi-Fi, LAUNDRY mode and a child lock in a room up to 70 m². Albert has the same 20 L/day and 70 m² rating, runs quieter (33 to 44 dB(A)) and lacks those features. Lukas Pro is rated 50 L/day for 175 m², includes a HEPA H11 filter and particle sensor, and has a 5-year warranty.

**What humidity should I set on Lukas?**

A target in the commonly recommended 40 to 60% band makes conditions less favourable for damp, condensation and mould growth. The Lukas hygrostat accepts 30% to 80%, or CO for continuous running, and the display shows the current room humidity once the setting is saved.

**Do I need a dehumidifier if I have air conditioning?**

It depends on the humidity your rooms actually hold. Air conditioning can remove moisture as part of cooling but may not maintain the desired indoor relative humidity under every operating condition. Lukas displays the current room humidity, so you can see whether a room stays above your target.

مزيل الرطوبة الذكي لوكاس يتصل بشبكة واي فاي بتردد 2.4 غيغاهرتز فقط عبر تطبيق Stadler Form أو تطبيق Smart Life، ويعرض التطبيق نسبة الرطوبة في الغرفة. يمكن ضبط منظّم الرطوبة بين 30% و80%، ويُنصح عادةً بإبقاء نسبة الرطوبة المثالية في المنزل ضمن نطاق 40% إلى 60%. ولمن يبحث عن مزيل الرطوبة من الملابس، يضم الجهاز وضع LAUNDRY لتجفيف الملابس داخل المنزل بأعلى مستوى مع خاصية التأرجح ومؤقت 6 ساعات، مع إبقاء الملابس على بعد 50 سم على الأقل. ويضم أيضاً قفل الأطفال بالضغط على زر TIMER لمدة 3 ثوانٍ، والإيقاف التلقائي عند امتلاء الخزان سعة 4.2 لتر.

لا يصبح لوكاس جهاز تنقية الهواء وسحب الرطوبة (منقي هواء ومزيل رطوبة) إلا بعد تركيب فلتر HEPA H11 الاختياري (L-032)، أو عند شراء لوكاس مع فلتر HEPA H11 (Lukas Smart). للمساحات الأكبر من 70 م² اختر لوكاس برو (Lukas Pro) بسعة 50 لتراً يومياً، ولأدنى مستوى صوت اختر ألبرت من ستادلر فورم (Albert). الجهاز مخصص للاستخدام المنزلي فقط. بروتكنولوجي هي الموزع الحصري المعتمد لستادلر فورم في الإمارات والسعودية والبحرين والكويت وعُمان، مع مركز خدمة في دبي، ويتم الشراء عبر متجر stadlerform.ae مع ضمان لمدة سنتين.
