# LapCabby charging trolleys, carts and cabinets in the UAE

LapCabby, a UK company based near Nottingham, designs and makes charging trolleys, cabinets, lockers and portable cases that store, charge and lock away laptops, Chromebooks, iPads and other tablets between lessons, shifts and events. A single trolley holds up to 40 devices, units charge through AC sockets, USB or USB-C, and the TabCabby range can also sync apps to a whole set of tablets at once.

In the UAE, PRO TECHnology supplies, delivers and installs LapCabby charging trolleys and cabinets, and trains staff to use them.

## What PRO TECHnology does in the UAE

We match the unit to your devices and numbers, supply it, deliver it to your site and install it. We then train the staff who use it: loading devices and cables, locking and unlocking, and the charging controls.

For a quotation, send the device model and screen size with its case, the number of devices per class or team, whether tablets need to be synced from one computer, whether the unit moves between rooms or stays in one place, and the delivery address.

LapCabby sells only through resellers. Selected units, such as the UniCabby 20H trolley, are listed with prices on [EVO](https://www.evo.ae/brands/lapcabby/), the group’s online store. Schools that also manage their devices centrally can pair the trolleys with [FileWave device management](https://www.protechnology.ae/filewave), and licence creative software through our [Adobe education licensing](https://www.protechnology.ae/adobe-education-partner-pro-technology-uae) team.

## How LapCabby units protect devices

#### Controlled charging

Trolleys with LapCabby’s Power7 system switch their power strips on in stages, charge every device at once and follow a programmable timer, so a full trolley does not overload the circuit.

#### Heat protection

The units are ventilated, and a heat sensor stops charging if the inside gets too hot. In the UAE, place trolleys in air-conditioned rooms.

#### Locks and keys

Dual-point locks on the doors and a separately locked power compartment. LapCabby fits units with the same keys, so several staff can hold one.

#### Ready to use

Trolleys arrive fully assembled. LapCabby states a lifetime warranty on its range, with five years on electrical components.

### Schools and universities

Class sets of laptops, Chromebooks and iPads that move between classrooms, charge overnight on a timer and stay locked when the room is empty.

### Hospitals and clinics

MediLyte tablet workstations for ward rounds, and lockable units for shared tablets and laptops.

### Offices, retail and events

Lyte lockers with a USB-C port in each compartment for hot-desk laptops and point-of-sale tablets, and portable cases for events.

## Which LapCabby unit fits your devices?

## LapCabby in the UAE: common questions

**Who supplies LapCabby charging trolleys in the UAE?**

PRO TECHnology in Dubai supplies, delivers and installs LapCabby charging trolleys, cabinets and lockers in the UAE, and trains the staff who use them. LapCabby sells only through resellers, so schools, hospitals and offices buy through a partner rather than from LapCabby directly.

**How many devices can one LapCabby trolley charge?**

Up to 40, depending on the unit. The UniCabby 40 Horizontal charges 40 devices with screens up to 14 inches, the LapCabby Essential 36 Vertical charges 36 laptops up to 15.6 inches, and the LapCabby 32 Vertical charges 32 laptops or Chromebooks up to 17 inches. Smaller cabinets, lockers and cases hold from a few devices to 16.

**What is the difference between charge only and charge and sync?**

A charge-only unit just charges the devices. A charge-and-sync trolley, such as the TabCabby 20 Vertical Charge & Sync USB C, also connects the tablets to one laptop or Mac through managed USB-C hubs, so apps and content can be loaded onto all of them at once. If your tablets are already managed over the network with a device management platform such as FileWave, a charge-only unit is often enough.

**Will our laptops and tablets fit?**

Measure the screen size with the protective case on. LapCabby states a maximum screen size for every unit, from 11 inches on the TabCabby 20 Vertical to 17 inches on the LapCabby 10 Vertical and 32 Vertical. Send us the device model and case, and we check it against the unit's compartment dimensions before quoting.

**Can charging run on a timer?**

Yes, on units with LapCabby's Power7 system. On the LapCabby 32 Vertical it can charge constantly, in cycles or on a schedule of up to three charging periods a day, seven days a week, and it switches its power strips on in stages so that plugging in a full trolley does not overload the circuit.

**Do LapCabby trolleys overheat in a hot climate?**

The trolleys are ventilated, and a heat sensor stops charging if the inside of the unit gets too hot, then lets it restart once it has cooled. In the UAE that means a trolley belongs in an air-conditioned room, not in a corridor, store or cupboard without cooling.

**What power supply does a LapCabby trolley need?**

LapCabby's published requirement is that the combined load of all power strips must not exceed 12 amps, no single strip may exceed 6 amps, and the mains lead must be rated at 12 amps or more. Its UK specification is 230 volts, 13 amps, 50 Hz. We confirm the plug and lead for your building when we quote.

**What warranty comes with LapCabby?**

LapCabby states that every product in its range carries a lifetime warranty, with five years' cover on the electrical components. Ask how warranty claims are handled for your order when you request a quotation.

**Which LapCabby unit holds a class set of 30 iPads?**

For tablets with screens up to 11 inches, LapCabby lists the Lyte 30 Single Door Tablet USB C 30W, a 30-device cabinet with USB-C and USB-A charging, in static and mobile versions, and the TabCabby 32 Horizontal Compact, a 32-device trolley in charge-only and charge-and-sync versions. Larger tablets need a unit rated for their screen size with the case on.

**Where do spare parts and warranty help come from?**

From LapCabby. It sells spare parts through its own spare-parts website and takes warranty claims through a form on its site. Ask how a claim is handled for your order when you request a quotation.

**Do you supply LapCabby outside the UAE?**

PRO TECHnology's LapCabby service, covering supply, delivery, installation and staff training, is offered in the UAE. If your school or office is elsewhere in the GCC, tell us the location and we will tell you what we can arrange.
