### Where files are stored

In Dropbox data centres in the United States. Storage in Australia, the European Union, Japan and the United Kingdom is offered to eligible teams; Dropbox lists no UAE or Saudi region.

### Team plans

Standard, Advanced and Enterprise. Version history runs 180 days on Standard and one year on the other two; single sign-on, remote wipe and audit logs start at Advanced.

## Dropbox in the UAE: common questions

**Who deploys and supports Dropbox Business in the UAE?**

PRO TECHnology in Dubai deploys and supports Dropbox for enterprises in the UAE: choosing the plan, moving the files, setting up teams and admin controls, training staff and supporting the platform after go-live. Its Dropbox work includes the Khaleej Times newsroom deployment, documented in a case study on this site.

**Does Dropbox store data in the UAE or Saudi Arabia?**

No. Dropbox stores files in data centres across the United States, with storage in Australia, the European Union, Japan and the United Kingdom for eligible teams. Moving a team's files there needs at least 10 licences, annual billing and a billing address in a different region, and Dropbox chooses the location. Dropbox lists no UAE or Saudi region, so if a regulator, a contract or your own policy requires data to stay in the country, settle that before moving files to any cloud service hosted abroad.

**How much does Dropbox Business cost in the UAE?**

Dropbox publishes per-user prices for its Standard and Advanced team plans on its own website, and prices Enterprise on request. Our quotation adds the deployment work, such as migration, setup and training, sized to your number of users and the volume of data.

**What is the difference between Dropbox Standard, Advanced and Enterprise?**

Standard gives a team an admin console, two-step verification, password-protected and expiring links, file requests and 180 days of version history. Advanced adds single sign-on, remote wipe, audit logs and tiered admin roles, with one year of history. Enterprise adds data classification, network control, enterprise mobility management and user and storage limits set for the organisation.

**Can you move our files from a file server or another cloud service?**

Yes. We first map which teams create and need which files, build the folder structure and permissions from that map, then move the data in stages while the old location stays read-only, so each team can check its files before the switch. For a move from another cloud service, the method depends on where the files are and how much there is, and we confirm it when we scope the project.

**Is Dropbox a backup?**

Not on its own. Version history and deleted-file recovery undo mistakes for 180 days or a year, depending on the plan, but they sit in the same account as the files. Keep an independent copy for ransomware and account compromise; our backup and disaster recovery guide explains how.

**Are Dropbox Sign signatures valid in the UAE?**

The UAE recognises electronic signatures under Federal Decree-Law No. 46 of 2021, which defines more than one level of signature. The level a document needs depends on the document, so confirm it with your legal adviser; our Adobe licensing guide explains the levels under UAE law.
